Oktober 2007 – Der Geschäftsbereich Automotive von SABIC Innovative Plastics hat bei der K 2007 seine neuen Ziele bekannt gegeben, die aufbauend aufseine Vorreiterrolle in der Entwicklung hochleistungsfähiger Materialien, die Herausforderungen der Automobilindustrie lösen können. Das Unternehmen arbeitet weiter an der industriellen Umsetzung der unlängst entwickelten technischen Kunststoffe, Verbundwerkstoffe und Polycarbonat-Verscheibungstechnologien, die dazu beitragen können, den Ausstoß von schädlichen Treibhausgasen sowie den Treibstoffverbrauch zu verringern.

SABIC Innovative Plastics Advances Solar Panel Technology with New Energy Center of Excellence
Düsseldorf, Germany – Oct. 24, 2007 – As part of SABIC Innovative Plastics’ accelerating investments in new application and market development, the company today announced the creation of a new Energy Center of Excellence at the company’s European headquarters in Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands. The new facility, an expansion of SABIC Innovative Plastics’ existing Fluid Engineering Center of Excellence and part of the company’s Global Application Technology (GApT) organization, aims to help customers use lightweight, high-performance thermoplastics to replace heavy and increasingly costly copper, aluminum, steel, and glass in thermal and photovoltaic solar panels. The center is equipped with leading edge design, molding, and testing equipment, and is staffed by engineers, materials scientists, and application development experts, to help customers utilize the latest in advanced thermoplastic technologies for the mass production of solar panels. SABIC Innovative Plastics’ goal is to be a major contributor in making solar energy for heating and electricity a practical and continuously more affordable option.

Rapid presents latest series in ‘Open Hearted’ concept at K 2007
Bredaryd, Sweden - Rapid Granulator AB presents its new 600 Series of ‘open-hearted’ granulators at K 2007. Thanks to its modular design with various cutter house, rotor, hopper configurations, the series can be tailored for injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion and recycling applications. The Rapid 600 comes in three models, with 900, 1200 and 1500 mm processing width respectively and can handle capacities of up to 2,500 kg/h.

Rapid expands into slow-speed granulator technology with acquisition of Moditec
