ROHM AND HAAS OPENS SOUTHWEST DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN CHINA
Shanghai, China, July 27, 2007 — The fourth distribution center for Rohm and Haas Paint and Coatings Materials’ (PCM) in China, has been operating since July 2007. The Southwest Distribution Center, is located in Chengdu National Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hongan Chemical Industry Park. It serves the entire Southwest China region, including Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Chongqing. The distribution center completes Rohm and Haas’ sales network in China, and speeds up the feedback to customers’ needs in Southwest China.

Brenntag Oil & Gas cleans Total pipeline with compressed air and achieves a lower explosion level of 0%
Brenntag Oil & Gas Europe recently cleaned a 140 km / 60.96 cm crude transport line at Total Refinery in Vlissingen, The Netherlands, with N-SPEC® cleaning chemicals. Compressed air was applied as a propelling agent to transport the pigs through the pipeline, a technique hardly ever seen before in Europe due to the higher risks involved. Thanks to N-SPEC®’s patented cleaning properties, Brenntag was able to remove all hydrocarbons from the pipeline and as such bring the lower explosion level (LEL) down to a unique 0%. Knauf Continues its Development in China with its State-of-the-Art Plasterboard Plant in Taicang
Taicang, China July 20th, 2007 – The Knauf Group, a world leader in plasterboard manufacturing announced today its further expansion in China. Knauf will build a new plasterboard manufacturing plant in Taicang, China with the initial (first phase) capacity of 30 million m2, per year, this state-of-the-art facility will be capable of producing more than 100 million m2 of safe, environmentally friendly and energy efficient plasterboard systems each year. This newest edition to the Knauf Group-China moves them into the position of the biggest foreign invested manufacturer of plasterboard in China. Pu Ronggao, Party Secretary of Taicang, Mr. Frederick Knauf, Director, Knauf Trading, David Gregory, CEO, Knauf East Asia and leadership team were in attendance today for the Taicang Plant Ground Breaking Ceremony to celebrate its grand success.

CHEMTURA INCREASES PRICES ON FATTY ACIDS
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) announced that, effective immediately or as contracts allow, prices for all Chemtura fatty acid-based products, including Hystrene®, Industrene®, Neustrene® and Kemester® brands, will be increased:
• Non-formula based products will increase by a minimum of $0.05/lb
• Formula based products will increase by a minimum of $0.02/lb

CHEMTURA INCREASES PRICES ON FATTY AMIDES
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) is increasing prices on Kemamide® primary and secondary amide products, effective July 1, 2007 or as contracts permit. The magnitude of the increase will, in most cases, range from 5% to 15% depending on the grade.

AKULON ULTRAFLOW IS IMPRESSIVE
Swedish firm Sveico has produced a new design garlic press, which will be sold under the company's GastroMax label. The company selected Akulon Ultraflow from DSM Engineering Plastics, because the material offered greater design freedom and is easy for filling complex molds. In addition, Akulon Ultraflow was able to deliver low cycle times with a 40% saving in production time compared to other polyamides, lower investment in machine and moulds, longer lifetime for machine and mould thanks to lower mould pressure, lower energy consumption and shorter cooling time.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Sells First Mercury Emissions Monitoring System in China
Shanghai China, (July 17, 2007) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has announced its first sale of a mercury emissions monitoring system in China. The sale of a Thermo Scientific Mercury Freedom System™ was made to Tsinghua University, a leading polytechnic institution in Beijing. The university will perform laboratory research and preliminary testing of mercury emissions monitoring in China using the Thermo Scientific system. The system is later slated for installation in one of China’s coal-fired power plants. Recent statistics show that a new coal-fired power plant goes on line every ten days in China.
