Rotterdam, 4 december 2006 – Supply Chain Security staat momenteel in een groeiende belangstelling van ondernemers. Het Transumo project PROTECT richt zich op het verbeteren van security binnen supply chains. Certificering is één van de instrumenten waarmee supply chains veiliger gemaakt kunnen worden. Het is voor ondernemers en logistiek managers van belang om duidelijkheid te krijgen over de mogelijkheden van integratie van (vaak reeds bestaande, vrijwillige) certificeringssystemen en nieuwe ontwikkelingen zoals “Secure Operator” en “Authorized Economic Operator” en wat dit in de dagelijkse praktijk betekent. STANYL® PA46 TAKES ON NEW LIFE – IN FIBRES AND FILMS
04 December, 2006 – Stanyl®, a high-heat polyamide 4,6 (PA46) resin from DSM Engineering Plastics, is adding a new market segment, fibre and film, to its existing broad portfolio of injection moulded, high-tech and high-heat engineered applications. As with injection moulded designs, Stanyl-based fibre and film benefit from the material’s unusually high crystallinity and resulting extraordinary mechanical properties, as well as its high melting point. In fibre and film, Stanyl adds a new side: it can be soft and supple.

GE Plastics’ Lexan* HPX Resin Delivers Outstanding Performance to the Intlock ITL-S Disposable Blade in PENTAX’s New Airway Scope
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — December 1, 2006 — GE Plastics today announced that its Lexan* HPX resin – a tough, high-tech transparent polycarbonate (PC) widely used in critical healthcare applications – has been selected by PENTAX to mold a specialized Intlock ITL-S disposable blade for the company’s new Airway Scope AWS-S100 video laryngoscope. Lexan HPX resin was selected by PENTAX for the material’s exceptional high-performance properties, including outstanding mechanical strength and toughness, incredible smoothness, and excellent transparency.

Borouge and Borealis introduce innovative plastic solutions for automotive applications
Borouge and Borealis are introducing two high performance plastic solutions specially tailored for the automotive industry. The first is Daplen™ ED230HP, a thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), that Borealis developed jointly with Plastic Omnium, while the second, Nepol™ GB215HP, is a new grade of polypropylene developed with the BMW Group.

Borouge awards approximately USD 1.3 billion Borouge 2 Cracker (EU2) Contract to Linde Engineering
Borouge, the leading provider of innovative plastic solutions, today announced that it has awarded the contract to build its new ethylene cracker to Linde Engineering. The cracker will have a capacity of approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum and is considered to be the largest gas cracker in the world.
