PR Professionals Donate Work to Support United Nations’ Fight Against Hunger in the World
Rome, Italy - June 6, 2005 - Eurocom Worldwide, the Global PR Network, has volunteered to work for the United Nations' World Food Programme as a pro bono communications partner supporting WFP's fight against world hunger. A select group of communications agencies in Eurocom Worldwide are already cooperating with a particular focus on Corporate Social Responsibility campaigns. The agencies have decided to donate their work to WFP as a sign of their support for the objectives of the World Food Programme.

Univar acquires Polish distribution company
Rotterdam, 6th June 2005 - Univar NV, one of the world’s leading independent chemical distributors, has confirmed its acquisition of the distribution company MAPOL Sp.z o.o., based in Warsaw, Poland. MAPOL has been active for more than 10 years in Poland, serving the fruit & vegetables, brewing, food and detergent markets, and is an established leader in the distribution of enzymes. The acquisition of MAPOL will provide a strategic platform for the expansion of Univar’s food ingredient distribution business in the region under the Fiske brand, the company's dedicated pan European food ingredients business.

GE Advanced Materials Is First & Only Manufacturer to Offer Boron Nitride Powders With NSF Registration for Incidental Food Contact
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — June 3, 2005 — The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International has designated sixteen grades of GE Advanced Materials’ boron nitride (BN) powder as acceptable for use in nonfood contact lubricants, ingredients in nonfood and incidental contact lubricants, such as greases, oils, and dry films. The move establishes GE as the only supplier of boron nitride ceramic powders that is compliant with this particular NSF certification.

This year Univar’s Personal Care, Pharmaceutical and Export (PCPE) business celebrates its 50th Anniversary. The business has its origin in D.F. Anstead Ltd, a company established in August 1955 as a specialist manufacturer of colours for foodstuffs and personal care products. Its two initiating owner-directors, Douglas Anstead, who gave his name to the company, and Drummond Kerr, each had a history in colour manufacturing and their combined expertise proved to be a successful formula in building a business.

GREAT LAKES INCREASES PRICES OF BROMINE-BASED FLAME RETARDANTS FOR BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION SEGMENTS
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced it will increase prices worldwide on Firemaster® 550/Firemaster® 552, Tetrabromophthalic anhydride (PHT4), Tetrabromophthalic anhydride derivatives, and HBCD (Hexabromocyclododecane) flame retardants. These price increases are in addition to all other increases previously announced and will be effective for shipments beginning July 1, 2005, or as contracts allow.
