Eastman Chemical Company has relaunched a whole new look to its Web microsite, www.theglasspolymer.com that provides insight into the innovative design possibilities of Eastman’s specialty plastics for cosmetics and personal care packaging, marketed under The Glass Polymer™ portfolio. The microsite is designed to educate packaging designers and brand owners on the features and benefits of The Glass Polymer in new product development, creating the opportunity for brand differentiation in a competitive retail environment.

DUTCH RAILWAYS USES FRIENDLIER PLASTIC FROM DSM FOR TRAIN CLADDING
Xantar® C CE 407, an unfilled blend of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) from DSM Engineering Plastics is used by the Dutch Railway to replace train cladding made from polyester sheet. The DSM material was chosen for its lower flammability (M1 classification) and extremely low generation of toxic smoke when burning (F2 classification) due to its use of bromine- and chlorine-free flame-retardant (FR) additives.

ISP Announces a Global Price Increase Across All Business Units
International Specialty Products Inc. (ISP), has announced global price increases of up to 10% on all list and off list prices across its polymer, emollient and preservative product ranges effective January 1, 2005. These increases are a direct result of the significant increases which ISP has incurred in energy and raw material costs.
