OC® Continuous Filament Mat PARIS, le 30 mars 2004.— Réaffirmant son engagement à fournir des solutions de technologie Composites à l’industrie navale, Owens Corning présente le Mat à Filaments Continus OC® 8635, un nouveau non-tissé à base de fibres de verre destiné au moulage par infusion. Fabriqué en verre Advantex® d’ Owens Corning, il s’agit du seul mat à filaments continus spécifiquement mis au point pour ce procédé d’infusion. Il permet au transformateur d’augmenter la vitesse d’infusion jusqu’à 25% et de disposer d’un système de renforcement tout-verre qui répond au problème de l’utilisation des matériaux organiques pour les applications sous la ligne de flottaison.

OC® SE 1200 vise les marchés de l’énergie éolienne et de la construction navale et définit de nouvelles normes de référence en termes de propriétés de résistance dynamique à la fatigue principalement lorsqu’il est utilisé dans les systèmes à base de résine polyester.

GE Advanced Materials today introduced a new family of halogen-free, flexible NORYL® modified-polyphenylene ether (MPPE) resin as an alternative to polyvinyl chloride (PVC), flame-retarded polyethylene (FR-PE), and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) in wire-coating applications for the direct-current (DC) cord and plug segments of the consumer electronics industry.  BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands — Feb. 2, 2004 — GE Advanced Materials today introduced a new family of flexible NORYL® modified-polyphenylene ether (MPPE) resin as an alternative to polyvinyl chloride (PVC), flame-retarded polyethylene (FR-PE), and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) in wire-coating applications for the direct-current (DC) cord and plug segments of the consumer electronics industry. The new products –
NORYL WCD910 and NORYL WCP860 resins – have passed bending-strength tests by charger manufacturers, address eco-label flame-retardant application concerns, and, unlike PVC, contain no halogens, such as chlorine, which can break down into dioxins and toxic, highly acidic gasses when burned. The new GE resins also offer a lower specific gravity than FR-PE and TPU – weight reductions of 20 to 30 percent are achievable – as well as faster extrusion rates for potentially higher productivity and lower systems costs.
