E&E UK takes the name of its parent company and re-brands as Univar UK Ltd
1 July 2003. E&E, the UK’s largest chemical distributor, technical services and solutions provider, has adopted the Univar brand. E&E businesses throughout the UK have been members of Univar N.V. since 2001, which itself devolved from Vopak N.V. to become a separate company at the end of June 2002.

Univar Ltd’s Pharma Division, formerly known as the pharmaceutical division of Anstead International and the leading distributor of ingredients to the pharmaceutical industry in the UK, announced that they are extending their distribution agreement with DMV International to incorporate its high performance disintegrants: Primojel® and Primellose®. DMV recently added these to their existing product range and will use Univar Pharma’s unrivalled customer base to market these excipients in the UK and Ireland.

June 2003 - Omnexus, the global eMarketplace created for the plastics industry by the plastics industry, has launched a global plastics materials database that gives engineers and researchers full property data access to more than 8,000 globally active grades, representing approximately 80 percent of global plastic products, from over 35 leading suppliers, distributors and compounders. Afin d’endiguer le risque élevé d’usure des étanchéités de pompes et les fuites qui en découlent, pour le complexe de raffinerie d’une grande entreprise pétrolière implantée dans la zone de l’Europoort, J. de Jong Rotatech a opté pour des bagues d’usure WR™ 300 de Greene Tweed. Ces bagues d’usure sont fabriquées dans un composite à base de PEEK (polyétheréthercétone) renforcé aux fibres de carbone. Elles présentent une excellente résistance aux produits chimiques, des propriétés anti-rayure et anti-grippage, un faible coefficient de frottement et une bonne résistance aux chocs. En outre, ce matériau résiste parfaitement aux chocs thermiques importants.
