Rhodia introduces new range of halogen and red phosphorous-free flame retardant products that meet both current and emerging strict regulations
Lyon, France, May 2003 – Rhodia Engineering Plastics today introduced an innovative range of flame retardant polyamide resins without halogen or red phosphorous additives. These new products provide environmentally improved solutions for Electrical & Electronic applications meeting recently endorsed Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (ROHS) European Community Directives.

Toledo, Ohio, May 7, 2003 – Owens Corning and Saint-Gobain today announced plans to form a joint venture to construct a state-of-the-art, innovative manufacturing facility to deliver high-quality glass fiber reinforcements to the growing composites marketplace. The 50/50 joint venture will produce reinforcements to be sold in equal shares through Saint-Gobain Vetrotex and Owens Corning international sales networks. Production and delivery of product is planned for late 2004.

LNP Engineering Plastics, une société de GE Plastics, a lancé une nouvelle famille de composites renforcés à la fibre de verre longue, les Verton® Nylon 6, qui présentent une combinaison originale de résistance mécanique, de rigidité, d'aptitude à la peinture et de qualité élevée d'aspect de surface. A ce jour, LNP est le seul producteur de matières à proposer de tels composites "structuraux et d'aspect".
