RB206MO from Borealis. A cool choice for blow-moulded bottles in hot fill applications

RB206MO’s stiffness, which allows creative designs, and its excellent transparency also make it a natural choice for the cosmetics industry, where appearance is extremely important. RB206MO is a new random Polypropylene (PP) grade strengthening Borealis’ position as one of the leading suppliers in high performance bottle applications. It can withstand hot filling temperatures of up to 100°C without any permanent deformation of the bottle shape. Even at high temperatures, RB206MO maintains excellent stiffness which means that it allows high productivity on hot filling lines. Another feature of RB206MO is that due to its superior stiffness, bottle weight can be reduced which provides savings in both material and transport costs. The higher temperature resistance of the unique additive package used in RB206MO results in less cleaning of the deventing channels, mould surfaces, die and the stationary mandrel. Because it is easy to extrude and has a high top load performance as well as very good nucleation, RB206MO is extremely well suited to high performance production lines, where it also offers significant savings in materials for multi-layer bottles.
