Befestigungselemente höchster spezifischer Festigkeit gefertigt durch Composite Flow Moulding mit VICTREX® PEEK™
Das Composite Flow Moulding (CFM) ist ein innovatives Verfahren zur Herstellung endlosfaserverstärkter Bauteile aller höchster Festigkeit. Diese vollständig automatisierte Technologie wurde von der icotec ag (innovative composite technology) mit Sitz in Altstätten/Schweiz entwickelt und ermöglicht z.B. die Fertigung von Befestigungselementen net-shape in großen Stückzahlen in einem einzigen Arbeitsschritt ohne Nachbearbeitung bei gleichbleibend hoher Qualität. Mit PEEK™ Polymer als thermoplastische Matrix und unter Verwendung von endlosen Kohlefasern wird eine spezifische Festigkeit von bis zu 600 MPa / g/cm3 erreicht, die höher als die von Aluminium (≈ 50 MPa / g/cm3) oder von Titan (≈ 300MPa / g/cm3) ist.

Eastman, Geocell Sign Exclusive Copolyester Supply Agreement
Eastman Chemical Company has signed an agreement with Geocell Systems, Inc., to be the exclusive supplier of copolyester materials used in Geocell’s Rapid Deployment Flood Wall (RDFW) grid. RDFW is a new and revolutionary fortification technology that can replace the outdated task of filling and stacking sandbags. In addition to flood control, the technology also has applications for military force protection and homeland security.

Honeywell and Samsung Electronics announce AZ-20® refrigerant supply agreement
Honeywell Fluorine Products, Europe announced that it has finalised a four-year agreement to support Samsung in the continued conversion of its air-conditioning equipment to AZ-20®, Honeywell’s patented replacement for ozone-depleting R-22 in new air conditioners. In addition to supplying refrigerant for charging and servicing equipment, Honeywell will provide support in system research and development, manufacturing plant conversion, and service-technician training.
