Maggiore liberta' nel design: La Barlo Plastics da' colore alla gamma prodotti Spectar®
La Barlo Plastics ha annunciato che ci sarà un ampliamento della gamma prodotti Spectar che aumenteràla scelta di colori attualmente disponibili, mentresi è creata anche l’opzione di due nuovi spessori: 12 e 15 mm. La Barlo Plastics ha inoltre ottenuto, per i prodotti Spectar, la certificazione sulla resistenza all’ impatto valida in tutta Europa. Si tratta di prodotti innovativi che vengono lanciati con lo scopo di rendere più vasta la possibilità di scelta del designer e di offrire sbocchi diversi per applicazioni nuove o già esistenti.

HYPERION OFFERS FIVE NEW THERMOPLASTIC MASTERBATCHES WITH FIBRIL(TM) CONDUCTIVE CARBON NANOTUBES
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – April 11, 2002 – Hyperion Catalysis International, the world’s only tonnage producer of carbon nanotubes, announced today that it has added five resin families of commercial-quantity thermoplastic masterbatches containing FIBRIL™ multi-walled carbon nanotubes to the company’s product offering. This high aspect ratio, curvilinear form of graphitic carbon confers electrical conductivity at lower loadings than other conductive additives when compounded with otherwise-insulating materials such as thermoplastics. All masterbatches are supplied in pellet form, in either drum or gaylord quantities. Processors can vary the letdown ratio on the masterbatches to optimize the conductivity level of a molded plastic part to meet its end-use application requirements.

The S-Mould From AXXICON Sets A New Standard: 22.000 DVD-Discs A Day On One Mould
The S-Mould from AXXICON is proving to be a huge success for the effective production of Audio/ROM, CD-R and DVD-R. Introduced only 18 months ago, today the mould is meeting the specific needs of replicators by demonstrating that it is possible to achieve cycle times of around 3 seconds on a range of machines, both electric and hydraulic. For Audio discs, a production of 25.000 a day has been achieved.

A New Development From AXXICON Moulds: Introducing The STDR© Mould For DVD-R
Building on its successful new generation S-Mould, AXXICON Moulds has introduced a mould for the efficient production of the DVD-R format: the STDR© Mould, capable of perfectly replicating the highly complex DVD-R structure with its microscopic and relatively deep grooves at fast cycle times. Built-in thermal management enables the mould to operate at high temperatures to ensure uniform replication of grooves.

Borealis wins ‘Supplier of the Year’ award from Lenzing Plastics
Leading European polyolefin supplier, Borealis, has been awarded the Supplier of the Year 2001 accolade by Lenzing Plastics. The award, which was given to the Borealis cast and blown film team at the company’s Austrian facility at Linz, was based on the fulfilment of a range of fixed criteria.
