Zyex chose PEEK™ polymer for its proven wear resistance, easy processing and lower weight in designing their protective braiding to protect the electrical and hydraulic cables used in aerospace and associated industries.
One of the fastest growing application areas for the UK-based extruder ZYEX Ltd. is PEEK™ polymer monofilaments for protective braiding. Developed specifically to protect the electrical and hydraulic cables used in aerospace and associated industries, this lightweight, precision-woven braiding can provide either a flexible, expandable sleeve structure with a wide range of possible diameters, or a tight over-braid of an existing cable assembly on the machine itself.

VICTREX® to showcase unique engineering strengths of PEEK™ polymer at Manufacturing Week 2001

VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer delivers long-life part quality and consistent production efficiency across all industry sectors, such as mass transit cabling. Victrex plc is looking forward to welcoming visitors to Stand 9675, Hall 19 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham for Manufacturing Week 2001. For all key markets, the company will showcase major advances in the development of both new applications and new processing methods for its PEEK™ polymer.

Victrex Europa strengthens its organisation

VictrexVictrex Europa GmbH has reorganised its business structure in response to changes in the markets it serves and the strong rise in demand for PEEK™ polymer. In addition to moving to a new headquarters building in Hofheim, Victrex Europa has been adding more high calibre specialists to its team in a move that will better serve the needs of both customers and industry partners throughout Europe.

Strong demand for VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer drives production capacity increase

VictrexDemand for VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer reached record levels for the year ended 30 September 2001, with sales of approximately 1600 tonnes - representing a 21 percent increase over the previous year.

High Performance PEEK™ Polymer combined with PTFE in New Cylinder Head Gasket Coating for Increased Wear Resistance

High Performance VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer combined with PTFE in new cylinder head gasket developed by STE of Wilhelmshaven, Germany.
German manufacturer STE has developed a new cylinder head gasket using a powder coating process that combines VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer and PTFE. The development of this highly durable plastic coating also opens up important opportunities for other applications in which low friction and low wear must be ensured at high temperatures and under load.

PEEK™ polymer provides high performance and design freedom for electric parking system

TRW chose VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer to provide high performance and design freedom for a new electrically controlled parking brake
TRW, a global technology, manufacturing and service company, has selected PEEK™ polymer as a cost-effective, innovative design solution for an electrically controlled parking brake. An actuator unit, which consists of an electric motor, and a gearing unit activate the brake. The use of VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer allowed TRW to economically develop a high-efficiency gearing concept with a transmission ratio of 150:1 within a limited space. Furthermore, the polymer provided lighter, quieter running parts than could be achieved with metal.

Baumer puts its trust in VICTREX® PEEK™ polymer in its Auto-ID systems
