A Milliken Chemical, uma divisão da Milliken & Company, anunciou hoje que a Suggar, fabricante líder de eletrodomésticos no Brasil que produz 2.500 lavadoras de roupa por dia, está utilizando polipropileno (PP) clarificado com Millad® NX8000 em substituição ao estireno acrilo-nitrila (SAN) em três dos seus modelos de lavadoras mais populares: a Top Max 5.0, a Viva e a Viva Max 6.0. Graças à inovação das tampas superiores das atuais lavadoras utilizando o PP clarificado com Millad NX8000, cuja transparência apresenta níveis anteriormente inatingíveis, a Suggar conquistou a transparência desejada pelos clientes e aperfeiçoou a resistência ao impacto de forma significativa, devido à sua maior durabilidade. Além disso, e em função da menor densidade, o PP clarificado tem um custo inferior à resina SAN.

The newly refurbished and upgraded laboratory is located at Chemtura’s European manufacturing plant in Latina, Italy, where it produces Adiprene®, Vibrathane® & Ribbon Flow® TDI and MDI prepolymers, Adiprene® Low Free TDI prepolymers and Vibracure® curatives.

CHEMTURA TO INCREASE WESTON®, MARK®, AND NAUGARD® PHOSPHITE PRICES
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase the price of Weston®, Mark®, and Naugard® phosphite antioxidants and stabilizers by $0.40-$0.60/kg, effective for all deliveries on or after June 10, 2008, or as contracts allow. The price increase is necessary to recover the unprecedented increases in the costs of phosphorus-based chemicals.
