Seat belt slider mould from Axxicon brings safety to automotive market
This mould for a safety critical seat belt slider, is one of a repeat series of moulds available in mass production variants of 8 and 16 cavities. The mould is fed through an open hot runner system and has internal and external sliding cores.
The mould offers complete cavity to cavity interchangeability. It was manufactured at Axxicon Moulds Cleveleys Limited, based in the UK, utilising a dedicated EDM production cell, which operates in a network that includes off line programming, pre-setting, job management and automated work piece and electrode handling.
Axxicon is a successful supplier of customer specified moulds to niche segments of the automotive sector, focusing on safety critical and switch gear applications. According to Martyn Robinson of Axxicon Mould Technology, the automotive sector demands flexibility from its key suppliers: “Key to success is the ability to offer complex multi tool projects in short lead times. Axxicon Mould Technology applies a successful concurrent engineering approach, ensuring programme mile stones are reliably hit with high quality production solutions.”
