AVERY DENNISON ANNOUNCES PATENT INFRINGEMENT SUIT AGAINST UPM RAFLATAC

Avery DennisonMENTOR, Ohio — April 9, 2015 — Avery Dennison (NYSE:AVY) announced today that it has filed a lawsuit in Germany against UPM Raflatac, asserting that Raflex MDO infringes European Patent Number 2 049 333 B1, Avery Dennison’s patent on its Global MDO™ pressure-sensitive film product. In the suit, Avery Dennison asks the German court to prevent UPM Raflatac from manufacturing, marketing, or selling Raflex MDO without a license. Global MDO is protected under patents granted in both Europe and China, and has patent applications pending in the US and Brazil.

(NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) was selected by Veritas AG, a global leader in the production of fluid systems, molding parts and thermo systems for the automotive industry, to supply the Moog Electric Simulation Table with Tilt. This innovative test system (patent pending 1) was specially designed for testing the behavior of fluid in in automotive fuel and fluid tank systems, a test application that requires large angular motions. Veritas AG ordered the system to perform tests on automotive SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) fluid tanks that are used to inject liquid-reducing agents in catalytic converters for the reduction of harmful emissions. The test system has been successfully installed and currently Veritas AG is performing the first series of tests.
