Sittard, Nederland – 18 juni 2012 – Afnemers zullen in de toekomst gebruik kunnen maken van zonnecollectoren die minder wegen, efficiënter en goedkoper zijn dankzij een exclusieve, wereldwijde overeenkomst tussen SABIC en de Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. Het doel van de samenwerking is om de technologische uitvinding van de universiteit om de temperatuur in zonnecollectoren te beheersen, verder te ontwikkelen en op de markt te brengen.

SABIC loopt voorop met eerste polycarbonaat BIPV-panelen met kenmerken als ontwerpflexibiliteit, thermische isolatie & energieproductie in één oplossing
BERGEN OP ZOOM – 14 juni 2012 – Met ongeveer 70 gigawatt (GW) cumulatieve installaties over de hele wereld, vertegenwoordigen PV-systemen de derde meest belangrijke duurzame energiebron – na hydro-elektriciteit en windenergie – in termen van capaciteit1. Naarmate de vraag naar zonne-energie toeneemt, helpt SABIC de haalbaarheid en integratie van deze in toenemende mate geprefereerde energiebron te verhogen door vandaag de eerste polycarbonaat (PC) in gebouwen geïntegreerde fotovoltaïsche (BIPV) panelen te lanceren voor dakbedekkings-, bekledings- en beglazingstoepassingen. Deze nieuwe innovatieve oplossing van SABIC’s Innovative Plastics bedrijf, Lexan* BIPV-paneel genoemd, biedt architecten en aannemers meer ontwerpmogelijkheden, thermische isolatie, gemakkelijke installatie en energieproductie in één enkele, geïntegreerde oplossing. Gecreëerd in nauwe samenwerking tussen SABIC en Solbian Energie Alternative, een innovatieve flexibele fotovoltaïsche (PV) productieonderneming, combineren de BIPV-panelen van Lexan sterke, lichtgewicht, transparante Lexan Thermoclear* PC-folie met flexibele PV-gelamineerde kristallijne cellen van Solbian en zijn verkrijgbaar in een ruim assortiment structuren, configuraties en kleuren. De BIVP-panelen van Lexan vormen het bewijs van de grote betrokkenheid van SABIC bij zijn klanten door de zich ontwikkelende trends en milieubehoeften aan meer duurzame ontwerpen te ondersteunen terwijl zij voorop lopen met verbeterde materiaaltechnologieën in de bouw- en constructie-industrie.
