SABIC wint VNCI Responsible Care-prijs 2011
Sittard – 16 juni 2011 – SABIC is de winnaar van de Responsible Care-prijs 2011. Dat werd woensdag 15 juni bekendgemaakt tijdens de jaarvergadering van de Vereniging van de Nederlandse Chemische Industrie (VNCI) in Den Haag. Het bedrijf ontving de prijs vanwege zijn inspanningen om het vervoer van gevaarlijke stoffen zo veilig mogelijk te maken. SABIC heeft een aantal veiligheidspolicies geïmplementeerd die verder gaan dan wet- en regelgeving. Daarnaast betrekt SABIC haar leveranciers actief in het verbeteren van de veiligheid in de logistieke keten.

SABIC adds impact copolymer to Flowpact range of Polypropylenes for thin wall packaging
Sittard, the Netherlands – June 9, 2011 – SABIC is adding to its range of polypropylenes for thin-wall injection moulding applications with a new impact copolymer grade, SABIC® PP Flowpact FPC 100. SABIC has developed the new material for the production of thin wall containers for yellow fats and packaging for dairy products such as yoghurts, cream, flavoured milk and cheese spreads.

SABIC Paints a Bright Future for Laser Direct Structuring with New Custom-Colorable LNP* Thermocomp* Compound
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – June 9, 2011 – The Innovative Plastics strategic business unit of SABIC announced at Chinaplas, the first new custom-colorable LNP* Thermocomp* thermoplastic compound for laser direct structuring (LDS) to save space and reduce the weight of mobile devices. LDS is a sophisticated process for integrating electronic and mechanical functionality into a single module, such as mobile phone and notebook antennas. Previously, only black plastic materials were available, typically forcing designers to confine LDS components to the device’s interior. The introduction of the company’s new colorable LNP Thermocomp compound vastly expands device design options.
