Latest Borpact innovation for robust transparent packaging film
Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, has developed the first polypropylene (PP) heterophasic copolymer packaging film grade that offers outstanding ductility together with excellent transparency. The grade is characterised by unique stiffness, heat and impact resistance combined with high gloss and low haze. This provides the high clarity of PP homopolymers together with the tough, non-brittle performance of heterophasic copolymers. New Borpact™ BC918CF will create opportunities for converters and end-product manufacturers of cast-, blown film and thermoformed applications such as pouches, label and lidding films.

SABIC Innovative Plastics schroeft productiecapaciteit Lexan* platen op om aan toenemende vraag te voldoen
Bergen op Zoom – 15 november 2007 – SABIC Innovative Plastics investeert aanzienlijk in de vergroting van de productiecapaciteit van Lexan* polycarbonaat meerwandige- en massieve platen voor de constructie- en industriemarkten in Europa, het Midden-Oosten en Afrika. De onderneming voegt productielijnen toe op drie locaties – Wenen, Milaan en Bergen op Zoom – om tegemoet te komen aan de toenemende vraag naar Lexan voor toepassing als beglazing, dakbedekking, promotie en informatie borden en andere toepassingen in Oost-Europa, Rusland en andere landen. De voltooiing van de nieuwe productielijnen is gepland in het derde kwartaal van 2008. De productuitbreiding betreft onder meer Lexan Thermoclick*, Thermoroof* en Thermopanel* speciale plaatsystemen, evenals Lexan Thermoclear* meerwandige plaat en Lexan massieve platen.
