Borouge en Borealis kondigen Innovatiecentrum van wereldklasse aan in de VAE
Borouge en Borealis, twee toonaangevende producenten van innovatieve plasticoplossingen die waarde creëren, hebben vandaag de oprichting bekendgemaakt van een groot innovatiecentrum in de VAE. OMV en Borealis vieren gezamenlijke investering in Oostenrijk
· Borealis upgradet zijn Europese assets: inhuldiging van een Borstar® polyethyleenfabriek met een capaciteit van 350.000 ton per jaar en uitbreiding van een bestaande Borstar polypropyleenfabriek van 210.000 naar 300.000 ton per jaar in Schwechat (Oostenrijk)
· OMV en Borealis voeren hun geïntegreerde strategie voor grondstoffen-olefinen-polyolefinen uit: uitbreiding van de kraker van OMV (35% eigenaar van Borealis) in zijn raffinaderij te Schwechat tot 900.000 ton per jaar
· Borealis bewijst zijn engagement voor Waardecreatie door Innovatie: met deze investering vergroot Borealis het gebruik van zijn gedeponeerde Borstar technologie tot meer dan één miljoen ton per jaar.
· Schwechat wordt een toonaangevende locatie in de Europese plasticsector: OMV en Borealis investeren samen EUR 400 miljoen

CHEMTURA TO WORK JOINTLY WITH HAKUTO ON POLYMERIZATION INHIBITORS FOR STYRENE MONOMER REFINING

(Shinjuku, Tokyo Japan) to work jointly in the areas of polymerization inhibitors for Styrene Monomer refining processes. These inhibitors, Hakutol PC Series developed by Hakuto, have demonstrated superior performance with dinitro-type polymerization inhibitors such as DNBP.

CHEMTURA ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASES ON SULFONATES
MIDDLEBURY, CT -- Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase the price of its sulfonate detergent and emulsifier product lines, due to rising raw materials costs. This global increase of $0.04/lb on its LoBase, HyBase, Petronate, Surchem, and Calcinate product lines will be effective on shipments on or after October 1, 2006, or as contracts allow.
