美國國土安全部選用熱電新一代譜儀門式探測器（ASP）加強國土安全
世界領先的分析儀器研發和製造商 - 熱電公司近日宣佈美國國土安全部國內核探測辦公室（DNDO）已選定該公司為其提供高性能的先進的譜儀門式探測器（ASP）。作為美國安全倡議的一部分，熱電的ASP探測器將會被用來監測和阻止不法核武器和放射性材料通過入境口岸和海關進入美國。

Londen, Engeland, 14 September, 2006 – In een strategische alliantie hebben DNV Certification (Det Norske Veritas Certification), een toonaangevend certificeringbedrijf en het Project Management Instituut (PMI®) hun Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) ProductSuite Certificatie Programma gelanceerd. Het OPM3 Certificatie Programma is ontworpen om de toepassing van OPM3 Standaard naar een hoger niveau te tillen. Kandidaten voor het programma dienen ervaring in consulting te hebben, assessments te hebben uitgevoerd en in staat zijn een toelatingsexamen dat de verschillende elementen van OPM3 Standaard beslaat, met goed gevolg af te leggen.

Clive Watson, Borealis’ CFO, keert terug naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk
Borealis kondigt vandaag aan dat Clive Watson beslist heeft om de Groep te verlaten. Hij neemt de functie op van Group Finance Director bij de firma Spectris plc. Spectris plc is een toonaangevende leverancier van precisie-instrumentatie en regeltechniek en is gevestigd te Surrey, Engeland. Clive is bijna 5 jaar werkzaam geweest bij Borealis en hij was verantwoordelijk voor Finance, Legal, IT&S en talrijke veranderingsprojecten. Zijn laatste werkdag bij Borealis is 30 september 2006.

GE Plastics is Double Winner in SPE’s 10th Automotive Awards Program with Two Innovative Body Panel & Glazing Applications
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — August 8, 2006 — GE Plastics today announced it has been honored with two automotive innovation awards from the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), Central Europe. The OPEL Zafira Panoramic Roof, featuring GE’s Lexan* SLX polycarbonate (PC) film for paint replacement, won first prize in the Body Exteriors category, while the Honda Civic Extra Window with integrated spoiler, made with GE’s Lexan GLX resin, placed third in the same category. The OPEL Zafira is available in Europe and parts of Asia, while the Honda Civic is sold in Europe only. Both applications attest to the innovation and value of GE materials, which enable such advantages as improved aesthetics and performance, design flexibility, part consolidation, and elimination of secondary painting operations in automotive applications. The awards were announced on July 14 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Borealis lifts 2nd quarter net profit to EUR 92 million, and introduces eleven new plastics grades
Borealis today announced a net profit of EUR 92 million for the second quarter, compared to EUR 31 million in the previous quarter, and EUR 51 million for the same period last year. Chief Executive John Taylor commented:
“On the back of reasonable demand, our solid financial results benefited from the consistent delivery of our value creation strategy driving improvements in our asset configuration and product portfolio.”
