At the 15th of July 2002, the PE100+ Association publishes the updated “PE100+ Association’s Positive List of Materials”. In total, twelve PE 100 products from five member companies met the PE100+ requirements and, as a consequence, are published on that list.

SONOCO ANNOUNCES SECOND PRICE INCREASE FOR PAPER-BASED TUBES AND CORES IN EUROPE
Brussels, Belgium - - Sonoco (NYSE:SON) will increase prices for its paper-based engineered carriers (tubes and cores) by 7 percent to 9 percent in Continental Europe, effective 12 August 2002, it was announced by Charles F. Paterno, vice president – Sonoco Europe. Paterno said that prices in the United Kingdom would be reviewed during August with further increases possible there as well.

Lancome’s New Packaging Starts With Eastar® Copolyester
Lancome of Paris, part of the L’Oreal Group has developed fresh new packaging for their Tonique Confort and Tonique Clarte lotions. Lancome was looking for a resin for the cap that enhanced the fresh, clean image of the lotions and selected Eastman Chemical Company’s Eastar copolyester because it was easy to decorate, shows excellent clarity, provides a durable, smooth glossy finish, and has the required mechanical resistance to screw the cap on the lotion container. Eastar copolyester’s processing ease allowed MAYET (Pierre de Bresse, France) and SAF (Blotzheim, France) to demonstrate its technical expertise in developing and producing the cap in a 12-cavity tool equipped with a hot-runner system.

Grootste gespecialiseerde technologie PR netwerk breidt uit in Oost-Europa
Bergen op Zoom, juli 2002: Vier nieuwe partners uit Bulgarije, de Tsjechische Republiek, Roemenië en Slowakije zijn per 28 juni toegetreden tot het Eurocom PR netwerk. Daarmee krijgt Eurocom toegang tot een aantal strategische markten in Midden- en Oost-Europa. Een partner in Hongarije wordt binnenkort verwacht.
