DSM inaugurates new production unit for Stanyl ForTii
Royal DSM N.V., the global life sciences and materials sciences company, has opened its third production unit for Stanyl® ForTii™ high performance polyamide. The plant is co-located with DSM's two existing plants in Geleen, The Netherlands. The capacity increase is needed to meet the strongly growing market demand for the new polymer, used in electronics, automotive and other markets.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi, 15 novembre 2012 - Oggi la divisione Innovative Plastics di SABIC ha annunciato che Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) ha scelto la resina SABIC NORYL GTX™ 989 di prossima generazione per i paraurti anteriori del suo crossover Outlander Sport 2013. I paraurti del veicolo sono i primi ad essere prodotti utilizzando lo stampaggio a iniezione con stampo a 2 cavità con la resina NORYL GTX, consentendo a MMC di dimezzare i tempi di produzione e di ridurre i costi di lavorazione. Gli altri principali vantaggi apportati dal materiale di SABIC comprendono la riduzione del peso rispetto all'acciaio e quindi di aumentare il risparmio di carburante, così come vantaggi legati alla sostenibilità e alla flessibilità per progettare i primi paraurti nordamericani dotati di staffe integrate per l'assorbimento degli urti della testa dei pedoni. U.S. Department of Agriculture lists DSM EcoPaXX polyamide 410 grades in "BioPreferred" Catalog of biobased products
Three grades of EcoPaXX® polyamide 410 from DSM have been given the “Certified Biobased Product” label awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The grades of this high performance engineering thermoplastic have a proven bio-based content of around 70%. This is because the polymer incorporates building blocks derived from castor oil obtained from plants that grow in tropical regions and which are not used for food products.
