SABIC wins VNCI Responsible Care Award for 2011
Sittard, the Netherlands – June 16, 2011 – SABIC has won the Responsible Care award for 2011. The announcement was made on Wednesday June 15 during the annual meeting of the Dutch Chemical Industry Federation (Vereniging van de Nederlandse Chemische Industrie (VNCI)) in The Hague. The company was chosen to receive the award because of its efforts to render the transportation of hazardous substances as safe as possible. SABIC has implemented a number of safety policies which go above and beyond the statutory and regulatory provisions. In addition, SABIC also actively involves its suppliers in safety improvements throughout the logistics chain.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 9 giugno 2011 – L'unità aziendale strategica Innovative Plastics di SABIC ha annunciato il primo nuovo composto termoplastico LNP* Thermocomp* con colore personalizzabile per la tecnologia di strutturazione laser diretta (LDS); tale composto consente di risparmiare spazio e di ridurre il peso dei dispositivi portatili. La tecnologia LDS è caratterizzata da un processo sofisticato che integra le funzionalità elettroniche e meccaniche in un unico modulo, come le antenne dei telefoni cellulari e dei computer portatili. In precedenza erano disponibili solo materiali plastici neri, che obbligavano i progettisti a relegare i componenti LDS all'interno del dispositivo. L'introduzione del nuovo composto LNP Thermocomp colorabile amplia enormemente le opzioni di progettazione dei dispositivi.
