2009 North American Truck of the Year Award-Winner Ford F-150 Shines with Brilliant Direct-Metallized Rear Lamp Bezels Made with SABIC Innovative Plastics Resins

Direct metallization of molded plastic parts are a widely used process for creating stunning lightweight lighting bezels. As Ford Motor Company was designing the direct metallized rear bezel for the 2009 North American Truck of the Year award-winning Ford F-150, the company together with Automotive Components Holding, LLC, selected SABIC Innovative Plastics’ Valox* V2000DM PBT resin for its stylish, metallic-looking rear lamp bezel.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 9 gennaio 2009 – La resina Valox iQ* di SABIC Innovative Plastics ottenuta da bottiglie in PET usate realizza in pieno l’innovativo modello di sostenibilità Cradle to CradleSM, letteralmente “dalla culla alla culla”, ideato dalla nota società di design McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry, LLC (MBDC). Questo approccio, che sostituisce il modello meno eco-compatibile “cradle-to-grave”, cioè “dalla culla alla tomba”, mira alla completa eliminazione dei rifiuti grazie alla circolazione di materiali sani e sicuri all’interno di sistemi a circuito chiuso che ne garantiscono un riutilizzo continuo. A testimonianza dell’importante contributo che la resina Valox iQ 8280SF fornisce alla sostenibilità e alla riduzione dei rifiuti smaltiti in discarica, MBDC ha annunciato che la resina Valox iQ 8280SF ha ottenuto il livello Silver nella certificazione Cradle to CradleCM. Borouge to invest in China
Borouge PTE Limited being a leading provider of innovative plastics solution announced today the investment of a manufacturing plant in Shanghai China. Borouge has decided to press ahead with further investments in the key markets including China despite the current prevailing global financial crisis. The first phase of this investment include a 50,000 tons plant focusing on engineering plastics for use in the automotive industry. The plant will be set up in the Fengxian District of Shanghai.

Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will raise the price of Methyl Bromide for emissive use, by up to 25% in all regions outside North America, effective January 1st, 2009, or as contract terms allow.

Bio Base Europe is granted €21 million to become the first open innovation and education center for the biobased economy in Europe
Brussels, Belgium 18 December 2008 – On December 12, Europe, Flanders and The Netherlands have joined forces within the framework of an Interreg IV project and allocated €21 million to Bio Base Europe. Bio Base Europe is the largest Interreg project ever granted to the Dutch-Flemish border region. Bio Base Europe will build research and training facilities for biobased activities, in order to speed up the development of a sustainable biobased economy in Europe.
