CHEMTURA EXPANDS EUROPEAN TECHNICAL SERVICE LABORATORY FOR GROWTH IN POLYURETHANES
Chemtura Corporation’s Performance Specialties business has completed a substantial expansion at its European regional Technical Service laboratory—an investment to support further growth of its range of Adiprene®/Vibrathane® polyurethane prepolymers. The newly refurbished and upgraded laboratory is located at Chemtura’s European manufacturing plant in Latina, Italy, where it produces Adiprene®, Vibrathane® & Ribbon Flow® TDI and MDI prepolymers, Adiprene® Low Free TDI prepolymers and Vibracure® curatives.

Efficast® Masks Offers Gold Standard in Patient Immobilization for Radiation Therapy
JERICHO, N.Y. - 19 June 2008 – Orfit Industries America today announced the expansion of its North American operations to give hospital-based and freestanding cancer centers faster access to their high-precision patient immobilization systems which use Efficast® thermoplastic masks. The company, whose technology is used in 75 percent of European radiation therapy facilities, is rapidly expanding in North America to meet demand for its products. CHEMTURA TO INCREASE WESTON®, MARK®, AND NAUGARD® PHOSPHITE PRICES
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase the price of Weston®, Mark®, and Naugard® phosphite antioxidants and stabilizers by $0.40-$0.60/kg, effective for all deliveries on or after June 10, 2008, or as contracts allow. The price increase is necessary to recover the unprecedented increases in the costs of phosphorus-based chemicals.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 17 giugno 2008 – Oggi SABIC Innovative Plastics ha presentato i suoi nuovi composti speciali Xtreme LNP* Starflam*, realizzati per offrire ai produttori di dispositivi e connettori elettrici un’alternativa più economica rispetto ai materiali tradizionali, quali le plastiche termoindurenti o i polimeri speciali per alte temperature, e in grado di garantire eccellenti prestazioni termiche a breve termine. I costi di produzione possono essere ridotti fino al 20% tramite l’impiego di questi materiali a base di poliammide (PA) rispetto alle plastiche termoindurenti, caratterizzate da una minor rendimento produttivo e da tempi ciclo dello stampaggio più lunghi. I nuovi composti Xtreme LNP Starflam, che comprendono anche dei gradi ignifughi (FR), sono l’ideale per applicazioni elettriche sofisticate quali i contattori e i dispositivi di protezione dei circuiti. Questa tecnologia può rappresentare una valida soluzione per le alte temperature tipiche dei processi di saldatura senza piombo che sono stati imposti al settore elettrico ed elettronico dalla direttiva RoHS.
