DSM DYNEEMA AND UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MAASTRICHT COLLABORATE TO EXPLORE NEW SOLUTIONS FOR CORRECTING SPINAL DEFORMITIES
URMOND (NL), 18 June 2008 - DSM Dyneema and the university hospital Maastricht (azM), The Netherlands, today announced a joint agreement to conduct research into new solutions that can improve surgical outcomes for patients with spinal deformities. Combining the materials technology of DSM Dyneema with the clinical expertise of the university, this project aims to develop new solutions that support the trend toward minimally invasive procedures as well as the need for preservation of mobility. The project team will focus on leveraging Dyneema Purity®, an Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fiber offering maximum strength and minimum weight, to enhance post-operative mobility and quality of life for surgery patients as a result. Furthermore, the high strength-to-weight ratio of Dyneema Purity® enables device miniaturization to support minimally invasive surgical techniques that promote faster recuperation and reduced scarring.

CHEMTURA RAISES PRICES ON PHOSPHATE ESTER FLAME RETARDANTS
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase prices on its range of core and performance phosphate ester flame retardants by 15% in all regions, effective June 16th, 2008, or as contract terms allow. This includes the Reofos® and Kronitex® brands.

SABIC Innovative Plastics presenta le nuove pellicole di qualità superiore Lexan* SD per documenti di identificazione elettronici durevoli e resistenti
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 12 giugno 2008 – Il furto di identità, la sicurezza insufficiente delle frontiere e simili minacce hanno reso necessario un utilizzo esteso di documenti di identificazione elettronici in grado di garantire la massima tutela. Questi documenti durano fino a 10 anni e sono caratterizzati da sofisticate tecnologie grafiche fra le quali la marcatura a laser. Per la produzione di documenti di identificazione elettronici e di documenti di sicurezza che soddisfino questi requisiti, SABIC Innovative Plastics ha sviluppato tre nuovi tipi di pellicola in policarbonato (PC) ad alte prestazioni. Questi nuovi prodotti fanno parte della famiglia di pellicole Lexan* SD e comprendono un tipo di pellicola che può essere marcata a laser, un materiale di colore bianco opaco e infine un materiale trasparente, da utilizzare come strato finale o intermedio nei documenti di identificazione elettronici. La commercializzazione di questi tre nuovi prodotti dimostra la direzione di SABIC Innovative Plastics riguardo alle nuove tecnologie per pellicole di qualità superiore in grado di offrire ai produttori soluzioni innovative che rispondano alla crescente esigenza di sicurezza dei dati.

CHEMTURA INCREASES PRICES ON BISPHOSPHATE FLAME RETARDANTS
Effective June 15th, 2008, or as contract terms allow, Chemtura Corporation (NYSE : CEM) will increase pricing for Reofos® BAPP and Reofos® RDP aryl bisphosphate ester flame retardants by $0.65 per kilogram in all regions. Chemtura is also removing all extended price validity.
