Borealis promuove il rinnovamento delle infrastrutture ad Accadueo 2008, la mostra italiana delle tecnologie per l'acqua
Le infrastrutture italiane per la distribuzione e il trattamento dell'acqua hanno bisogno di sostanziali interventi di ammodernamento. La rete idrica italiana necessita di essere rinnovata dato che il costo annuo delle perdite è stimato tra i 3,9 e i 5,2 miliardi di euro annui *,come riporta uno studio di recente pubblicazione. Per rinnovare la rete, tuttavia, occorrono investimenti notevoli, ma, se al posto dei materiali tradizionali si utilizzeranno le tubazioni in materie plastiche si potranno risparmiare fino a 85 miliardi di euro sui costi di materiali, installazione e manutenzione, con risvolti positivi anche per l'impatto ambientale.

SABIC Innovative Plastics Names Charlie Crew President and CEO
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – May 20, 2008 – SABIC Innovative Plastics today announced that Charlie Crew has been promoted to president and CEO of the company, effective immediately. Crew will lead the multi-billion-dollar engineering thermoplastics business with operations in more than 25 countries and over 10,500 employees worldwide. Crew succeeds Brian T. Gladden who left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Borealis introduces innovative solutions for bottles, caps and closures and film applications at Plastpol
A new high-clarity polypropylene suitable for a wide range of extrusion blow moulded containers, as well as a new PP with improved organoleptic properties for drink bottle caps and closures, will be among the highlights on the Borealis stand E43 in Pavillion E at Plastpol, the annual Polish plastics processing show being held at the end of May (27-30) in Kielce. Borealis will also present new high-performance film grades.

PPG launches paint-sale donation program to support China earthquake recovery
BEIJING, May 19, 2008 – Two days after announcing its donation of RMB 500,000 to the Red Cross Society of China for earthquake recovery efforts, PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) has announced that for each can of Master’s Mark Paint, IVY paint and Seigneurie paint sold in May and June in China, the company will donate RMB 1 Yuan to aid in recovery efforts in the disaster area. All donations from this sales program will go to the Red Cross Society of China.
