European Court of Justice ruling may open up further cross-border mail opportunities for Spring Global Mail
Amsterdam, 22 November 2007 – On 15 November 2007, the European Court of Justice issued a ruling about the interpretation of the EU regulation that allows Posts to keep international mail under their monopoly. If this ruling is taken over by the Spanish Supreme Court, this will open up further opportunities for Spring Global Mail and other postal service providers in cross border mail services throughout Europe.

FIRST VLCC VESSEL TO USE MOORING ROPES MADE WITH ULTRA-STRONG DYNEEMA® FIBER
URMOND (NL), 22 November 2007 - DSM Dyneema, maker of ultra-strong, lightweight Dyneema® polyethylene fiber, today announced that COSCO Dalian, a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, has selected mooring lines made with Dyneema® fiber for its newest Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), the Cospearl Lake. Following a successful eight-month sea trial on its Cosmerry Lake VLCC, COSCO Dalian found that, in comparison with steel wire mooring lines, ropes made with Dyneema® enabled a reduction in mooring time and significantly improved crew safety. DSM Dyneema worked closely with COSCO Dalian during the sea trial to document performance of the new ropes.

Hanwha acquisisce AZDEL Inc. da SABIC Innovative Plastics, PPG Industries
FOREST, Virginia, 20 novembre 2007. Hanwha Living & Creative (L&C) Corporation ha annunciato oggi il completamento dell’acquisizione di AZDEL Inc., una joint venture al 50/50 di SABIC Innovative Plastics (ex GE Plastics) e PPG Industries. L’acquisizione di AZDEL consentirà ad Hanwha di ampliare la propria offerta di materiali compositi e avanzati per i settori dei trasporti e dell’industria. I termini dell’operazione non sono stati resi noti.

Borealis, un leader nella fornitura di soluzioni plastiche innovative e ad alto valore aggiunto, ha svolto un ruolo pionieristico nello sviluppo dei paraurti e dei pannelli frontali per camion stampati per la prima volta a iniezione. I componenti strutturali per il più recente camion Stralis di IVECO sono stati sviluppati utilizzando Nepol™ GB303HP, una soluzione di polipropilene (PP) rinforzato con fibra di vetro lunga di Borealis. Nepol sostituisce la fibra di vetro in poliestere non saturo utilizzata in altre tecniche riducendo pertanto la complessità della produzione e soddisfacendo contemporaneamente i requisiti elevati in termini di aspetti meccanici e di rispetto dell'ambiente specificati da IVECO.
