DSM Biomedical Chairs Session on Antimicrobial Surfaces at BioInterface 2007
SAN MATEO, Calif. – Oct. 31, 2007 – At the BioInterface 2007 Workshop and Symposium, Aylvin Dias, Ph.D, R&D program manager for DSM Biomedical, will chair a double session on antimicrobial surfaces with emphasis on biofilms, biofouling and biocidal approaches. This session will be attended by a number of industrial and academic opinion leaders to discuss the latest developments on and challenges to medical device associated infections. During the session, Dr. Dias will introduce ComfortCoat™, DSM’s new coating that addresses catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI).

DUPONT PERFORMANCE ELASTOMERS ANNOUNCES THAT VITON® AND VAMAC® WILL JOIN TO FORM “V SOLUTIONS”
DuPont Performance Elastomers (DPE) has announced that effective January 1, 2008, in order to serve its customers more effectively, DuPont™ Vamac® ethylene acrylic elastomers and Viton® fluoroelastomers will be combined within DPE. The new market-facing group, called V Solutions, will provide customers with a broader range of solutions, greater flexibility and improved efficiency when evaluating materials and developing solutions for sealing and hose applications.

SABIC Innovative Plastics aumenta la capacità produttiva di lastre Lexan* per rispondere alla crescita della domanda
Düsseldorf, Germania – 24 ottobre 2007 – SABIC Innovative Plastics ha avviato un ampio programma di investimenti per aumentare la produzione di lastre alveolari e compatte in policarbonato Lexan* destinate al settore edile e al mercato industriale in Europa. Medio Oriente e Africa. La società aprirà tre nuove linee di produzione a Milano, Vienna e Bergen op Zoom per rispondere alla crescita della domanda di lastre Lexan per vetrate strutturali, coperture, insegne e altre applicazioni in Europa orientale, Russia e altri paesi. Le nuove linee di produzione, che saranno ultimate nel terzo trimestre 2008, produrranno lastre speciali Lexan Thermoclick*, Thermoroof* e Thermopanel*, nonché lastre alveolari Lexan Thermoclear* e lastre compatte Lexan.
