GE decide di innovare nel settore delle fibre e investe nell’acquisto e nell’installazione di una linea di filatura per fusione ad alta temperatura
BERGEN OP ZOOM, PAESI BASSI — 21 giungo 2007 — Fedele alla propria strategia di penetrazione nel mercato e di sviluppo di nuovi mercati globali con l'impiego di tecnologie innovative , GE Plastics ha installato una nuova linea Hills di filatura di fibre per fusione ad alta temperatura nel proprio Centro di Sviluppo (PPDC) di Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Il nuovo impianto amplierà ulteriormente le potenzialità del reparto Global Application Technology (GApT) e verrà impiegato per lo studio dei materiali e per l'ottimizzazione delle condizioni operative allo scopo di produrre fibre molto sottili (2 - 6 denari per filamento) utilizzando la resina autoestinguente ad alte prestazioni GE Ultem* polieterimmide (PEI) e altre resine resistenti alle alte temperature. Grazie all'ottimizzazione del processo di filatura per fusione, resa possibile dai propri materiali di alta gamma, GE Plastics sarà in grado di offrire nuove opportunità ai produttori di stoffe e tessuti, costantemente alle prese con le severe norme in materia di infiammabilità, emissione di fumi e tossicità.
