BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi — Una gamma di nuovi gradi di materiali ad alta resistenza termica per il mercato dei connettori introdotti oggi da LNP Engineering Plastics sono stati sviluppati in modo specifico per resistere alle sollecitazioni termiche della saldatura a riflusso a infrarossi (IR), presentano le stesse caratteristiche di ritiro dei più utilizzati poliesteri termoplastici e quindi possono essere utilizzati direttamente al posto di questi ultimi; in più, sono formulati con un pacchetto di ritardanti di fiamma esenti da alogeni utilizzabile in applicazioni che richiedono il marchio di qualità ecologica (eco-label). Questi gradi rinforzati con vetro – il composito THERMOCOMP® HT Solder e il composito STARFLAM – sono utilizzabili al posto di materiali a minor resistenza termica utilizzati in connettori saldabili senza piombo nei settori delle periferiche per computer, delle telecomunicazioni e della trasmissione dati.

Rhodia Engineering Plastics launches two new Technyl® polyamide grades for Water Injection Technology (WIT) to address evolving customer demands
Detroit, MI, Mar. 8, 2004 – Rhodia Engineering Plastics today introduced two new Technyl® polyamide grades specifically designed for water injected cooling pipes: TECHNYL® A338 Wit1 V30 bk34N and TECHNYL® A338 Wit2 V30 bk34N. This major product introduction follows three years of dedicated research and process development work, including the development of Rhodia’s own WIT mold, water injectors and injection unit. The challenge of the Rhodia WIT development team was to find an optimal balance between water injection processability and glycol resistance in an application context where specific material properties are required to fit to the technology, while cooling circuit specifications are increasing.

GREAT LAKES INCREASES ANTIOXIDANT PRICES
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced it would increase prices worldwide by 10 percent for its main antioxidants including Alkanox® 240, Anox® 20, and Anox® PP-18, effective for shipments after April 15, 2004, or as contracts allow. The price for Anox® NDB® (No Dust Blends) and other blends will also increase dependent upon main antioxidant content and value.
