Tra le manifestazioni previste a Interplas 2002 una gara di progettazione di prodotti con le materie plastiche, unica nel suo genere
La Plastics Design Committee, la Commissione per la progettazione con le materie plastiche dell'Istituto dei materiali, dei minerali e dell'industria mineraria (ex Istituto dei materiali) sarà presente come espositore ad Interplas per la prima volta. La IOM3 Design Committee, un'istituzione unica nel Regno Unito, ha ideato una gara di progettazione di prodotti con le materie plastiche che è già stata accolta in seno al programma di Interplas.

La progettazione, la forza trainante del continuo sviluppo e dell'incessante innovazione dell'industria della plastica, è il tema centrale di Interplas 2002. La mostra si rivolge specificamente ai progettisti di prodotti e agli ingegneri progettisti attraverso un programma di marketing estremamente completo. Un ruolo di primo piano per quanto concerne la progettazione sarà svolto dal centro tecnico "Progettare con la plastica" (Designing in Plastics), che fungerà da vetrina per mettere in evidenza la versatilità dei polimeri e la creatività che sta alla base di un'intera gamma di prodotti e componenti innovativi.
