Le site d'achat en ligne Omnexus sera ouvert en août aux transformateurs europeens de matieres plastiques
ATLANTA .– Le 31 juillet, Omnexus (www.omnexus.com), la place de marché électronique mondiale et indépendante de l'industrie des matières plastiques, sera accessible aux transformateurs européens en version totalement opérationnelle pour les transactions en ligne. Début août, les utilisateurs de Omnexus pourront passer l'intégralité de leurs commandes de matières plastiques, par un seul point d'accès en ligne pour de multiples produits auprès de multiples fournisseurs. Ils disposeront également d'une technologie leur permettant d'effectuer des recherches et des comparatifs de machines de mise en œuvre des plastiques par un grand nombre de critères dont la force de fermeture, le passage entre colonnes, le volume injectable, etc., et ils pourront émettre un "appel d'offres" auprès de multiples fournisseurs simultanément. Le statut d'utilisateur Omnexus est désormais accessible gratuitement à l'ensemble de l'industrie mondiale des matières plastiques.

13 plastic parts for the new one-touch gearshift
Lohne, April 2001 – For the one-touch gearshift in the new C-Class models from DaimlerChrysler, the Pöppelmann Kunststoff-Technik GmbH & Co. KG, Lohne, is supplying all 13 plastic parts. With this comfort automatic transmission system, the driver can select the gear he wants for a particular driving situation simply by lightly touching the shift lever. The compact shift block weighs only 0.5 kg, and the automatic transmission is currently regarded as the smallest of its kind. At the Hanover Industrial Trade Fair (23rd to 28th April 2001), Pöppelmann will be presenting the transmission as a transparent model on its stand C 34 in Hall 4.

Engel – well equipped for our globalized future
Injection moulding machines, automation systems, technology and service "made by Engel" are today an internationally recognized yardstick for economical and innovative plastics processing. The last business year 2000/2001, which in Austria ended on 31st March, was one of dynamic development and enormous growth for Engel. Of the total sales of EUR 589 million, well over half (61 percent) was generated in Europe. North and South America together accounted for approximately one third (32 percent) and Asia 5 percent. The remaining 2 percent were spread over Australia, Africa and the Near East. In high jump terms, the crossbar is at a record height and will take some beating in the coming business year.
