LOCKHEED MARTIN UTILISE UN SYSTÈME MOOG POUR TESTER DES TOURELLES DE CANON
East Aurora, NY, USA, 10 juillet 2013 – Moog Industrial Group, filiale de Moog Inc. (NYSE : MOG.A et MOG.B) et important fournisseur mondial de systèmes d’essais et de simulation de hautes performances, a livré un système d’essais de tourelles à l’usine de Lockheed Martin située à Ampthill au Royaume-Uni. Lockheed Martin prévoit de tester les caractéristiques de performance et de stabilisation de la tourelle installée sur la version modernisée du Warrior, dans le cadre d’un programme de revalorisation de ce blindé d’infanterie (Warrior Capability Sustainment Program), ainsi que pour le véhicule de combat d’infanterie Scout dont General Dynamics est le principal maître d’œuvre. La modernisation porte sur l’équipement du canon de 40 mm à munitions télescopées (Cased Telescoped Gun) et son intégration dans une nouvelle tourelle, le tout impliquant d’optimiser les caractéristiques de visée et de stabilité du canon dans le cadre de manœuvres représentatives d’une mission classique sur un théâtre d’opérations.
