GE Power Conversion’s technology helps make the next generation of cruise ships cleaner and greener
PARIS - March 13, 2013 - GE’s Power Conversion business (NYSE: GE) today announced that the latest addition to the MSC Cruises’ fleet, MSC Preziosa, has successfully completed sea trials that will move it closer to commissioning. The vessel is one of the newest cruise ships that is part of a growing global electrification trend that replaces mechanical equipment with electrical power generation and propulsion technology. Over the last year passenger vessels have experienced a growth rate of 3.3% with 20.9 million passengers in 2012. The growth forecast for the next five years is projected to be 3% with six new ships being built per year for the next three years. Electrical equipment on cruise lines improves the fuel efficiency, comfort, safety and reliability of the ships operations. Electrical technology helps cruise line owners operate cleaner and greener fleets around the globe.

Belden présente HiView, la nouvelle interface pour les commutateurs Hirschmann
Neckartenzlingen, Allemagne - 12 mars 2013 - Belden Inc., l'un des principaux fournisseurs mondiaux de solutions de transmission de signaux pour les applications critiques, présente HiView, une nouvelle interface qui permet d’accéder sans navigateur Web standard à l’interface utilisateur graphique des commutateurs gérés de la gamme Hirschmann. Cet outil sert également de client pour le logiciel d'administration de réseau Industrial HiVision et prend en charge différents systèmes d’exploitation Windows et Linux. Dans les deux applications, les bibliothèques Java deviennent inutiles sur l’ordinateur de l‘utilisateur, ce qui augmente la disponibilité de l’interface utilisateur ainsi que du réseau. Comme cette nouvelle interface archive toutes les informations dans un dossier interne, elle n'a pas besoin d’être installée et des entrées du registre ne sont pas non plus nécessaires sur l’ordinateur. L’interface HiView peut également être utilisée avec des supports d’enregistrement portables comme les clés USB ou les cartes SD. En outre, il n’est pas nécessaire de disposer de connaissances informatiques spécialisées pour l’utiliser.
