Belden complète sa gamme Hirschmann avec le PowerMICE – la troisième génération
Neckartenzlingen, Allemagne - 19 février, 2013 - Belden Inc., l'un des principaux fournisseurs mondiaux de solutions de transmission de signaux pour les applications critiques, présente dans la zone EMEA le nouveau PowerMICE, la troisième génération MICE (Modular Industrial Communication Equipment) de sa gamme Hirschmann. Ce commutateur modulaire pour rails DIN offre pour la première fois une protection complète pour le réseau. Afin de réguler les accès et assurer une protection contre les attaques, les mécanismes de sécurité suivants sont notamment utilisés : sécurité des ports, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, filtrage du trafic entrant/sortant, sFlow, Storm Control, prévention automatique des attaques par déni de service et bien contrôle d’accès au niveau des ports via 802.1x y compris l’authentification multi-client, Radius VLAN/affectation de règles et VLAN invité/non authentifié. Les procédés de redondance matérielle tels que PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol) et HSR (High-availability Seamless Redundancy) assurent par ailleurs une communication ininterrompue. Ce commutateur compatible IPv6 permet de mettre en œuvre des applications exigeant un très haut niveau de sécurité et de disponibilité réseau. De plus, il s’intègre parfaitement dans les environnements PROFINET et EtherNet/IP. La fonction PoE Plus intégrée permet d’assurer l‘alimentation des terminaux, et ce, à moindre coût.

GE Power Conversion Completes Trials of Advanced Linear Induction Machine, a Core Component in New Aircraft Catapults
PARIS-February 14, 2013-Stall testing on a new advanced linear induction machine, a core component in the EMCAT (Electro Magnetic CATapult) launch track system designed to launch manned and unmanned aircraft from various platforms, has been successfully completed by its developer, GE Power Conversion (NYSE: GE). Catapults incorporating the powerful new medium voltage advanced linear induction machine (MV ALIM) will be capable of launching aircraft as large as the latest F35-C from aircraft carriers, while smaller versions (EMKITs) will be used to launch unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from mobile or fixed installations.

Reshaped Clariant increases profitability in the fourth quarter
CEO Hariolf Kottmann: “Clariant achieved solid results in a demanding year, with the majority of businesses performing well. In most regions the company continued on a robust growth path. In Europe, the economic weakness affected some of the more cyclical businesses. Concerning the repositioning of Clariant, the company has made good progress. Five businesses have been reclassified as discontinued operations and an agreement to divest three of those businesses has already been signed. The focus in 2013 will now be on growing the remaining seven core businesses. Combined with continuous cost efficiency, the reshaped Clariant is well positioned to achieve its 2015 targets.”

SABIC Launches Portfolio of Antimicrobial Compounds at MD&M West to Help Customers Enhance Safety of Healthcare Applications
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands, February 13, 2013 - According to a 2011 report by the World Health Organization, in 2002 in the United States alone approximately 99,000 deaths were linked to healthcare associated infections (HCAIs).¹ Here at MD&M West (booth #1701), SABIC’s Innovative Plastics business today introduced powerful new tools to help medical device manufacturers reduce HCAIs among patients and clinicians. SABIC’s nine new antimicrobial compounds featuring silver technology have been tested for log reduction values – the level of microbes eliminated from a surface – according to the ISO 22196-2007 protocol.
