DSM inaugurates new production unit for Stanyl ForTii
Royal DSM N.V., the global life sciences and materials sciences company, has opened its third production unit for Stanyl® ForTii™ high performance polyamide. The plant is co-located with DSM's two existing plants in Geleen, The Netherlands. The capacity increase is needed to meet the strongly growing market demand for the new polymer, used in electronics, automotive and other markets.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Pays-Bas, 15 novembre 2012 - La division commerciale Innovative Plastics de SABIC a annoncé aujourd'hui que Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) avait choisi la résine NORYL GTX™ 989 nouvelle génération de SABIC pour fabriquer les ailes avant de son crossover Outlander Sport 2013. Les ailes du véhicule sont les premières à être produites par moulage par injection en 2 empreintes avec la résine NORYL GTX, ce qui permet à MMC de réduire la durée de cycle et de diminuer les coûts d'outillage. Le matériau SABIC présente d'autres avantages importants, notamment une réduction de poids par rapport à l'acier, ce qui lui permet d'offrir des économies de carburant et des avantages en termes de durabilité, ainsi qu'une flexibilité dans la conception des premières ailes nord-américaines équipées de systèmes d'absorption de chocs intégrés pour protéger la tête des piétons. L'adoption de la résine NORYL GTX 989 par MMC pour produire en série les ailes démontre la valeur croissante de la technologie NORYL™ et NORYL GTX pour l'industrie automobile et son importance pour les clients qui la considère comme une solution permettant de répondre à divers besoins en matière de fabrication et de durabilité.

U.S. Department of Agriculture lists DSM EcoPaXX polyamide 410 grades in "BioPreferred" Catalog of biobased products
Three grades of EcoPaXX® polyamide 410 from DSM have been given the “Certified Biobased Product” label awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The grades of this high performance engineering thermoplastic have a proven bio-based content of around 70%. This is because the polymer incorporates building blocks derived from castor oil obtained from plants that grow in tropical regions and which are not used for food products.
