DSM and Stanyl help Dutch cycling team win World Human Powered Speed Challenge
The Human Power Team of Dutch cyclists won the 2012 World Human Powered Speed Challenge (from 10 September to 15 September) with the Velox 2. This lightweight, aerodynamic velomobile was developed in partnership with DSM whose extensive knowledge and expertise in materials, health, and nutrition was crucial to the team’s success. A vital component of the Velox 2 was the drive-train incorporating DSM’s Stanyl®, a high-performance polyamide 46 which helped give the Human Power Team the edge they needed to win.

Reverdia et Helm s'associent pour la distribution et le développement du marché du Biosuccinium™ en Europe
Reverdia, la coentreprise entre DSM et Roquette, et Helm ont signé un accord portant sur la distribution et le codéveloppement du marché de l'acide succinique biosourcé Biosuccinium™ de Reverdia, en Europe. Ce partenariat s'appuiera sur la position solide de Helm en Europe en tant qu'entreprise et distributeur d'un vaste portefeuille de produits chimiques, et sur la position de nouveau leader de Reverdia en ce qui concerne la commercialisation d'acide succinique biosourcé.

SABIC Makes a Splash at Fakuma with New NORYL™ Resin, Meeting Tightening Global Regulations for Materials in Potable Water Systems
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany, October 16, 2012 - Here at the Fakuma trade fair, booth #B5-5506, SABIC’s Innovative Plastics business today announced a new NORYL™ resin that not only complies with current European and global sustainability regulations governing materials used in potable water systems, but also with new, tougher regulations slated to go into effect in 2016. Developed at SABIC’s Fluid Engineering Center of Excellence in the Netherlands, NORYL FE1630PW resin is a 30-percent glass-reinforced polyphenylene ether (PPE) that offers excellent hydrological performance in both cold and hot water systems. The next-generation resin also meets tightening global specifications regarding compliance of glass fiber and sizing with U.S. and European food contact requirements. This PPE technology advancement further demonstrates SABIC’s proactive efforts to provide the fluid engineering industry with higher-performing, compliant materials that lead regulatory changes.

Songwon, Pan Gulf and Polysys form Songwon Additive Technologies AG for global manufacture and sale of Songnox® OPS
Ulsan, Korea - October 16, 2012 - Today, Songwon Industrial Group, Pan Gulf Holdings of Saudi Arabia and Polysys Industries of Abu Dhabi proudly announce the establishment of their Joint Venture, Songwon Additive Technologies AG, for the manufacture and sale of Songnox® OPS.
