DSM va lancer une gamme de biomatériaux en partenariat avec Empresa Brasileira de Biotechnologia (EBRABIOTECH)
Par l’intermédiaire de sa division opérationnelle DSM Functional Materials sise aux États-Unis, Royal DSM, société mondiale spécialisée dans les sciences de la vie et des matériaux, a signé un protocole d’accord avec la société brésilienne Empresa Brasileira de Biotechnologia (Ebrabiotech®), portant sur le lancement, sous la marque DSM, d’une nouvelle gamme de biomatériaux destinée au marché des revêtements pour sols en béton. Cette initiative est axée sur le développement de matériaux à base d’huile de ricin, laquelle est non comestible et contribue à réduire l’empreinte carbone totale.

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Pays-Bas – 12 janvier 2012 – La division commerciale Innovative Plastics de SABIC a annoncé aujourd'hui que ses sites de fabrication de Campinas au Brésil et de Tortuguitas en Argentine sont désormais certifiés pour produire des résines biocompatibles et conformes aux normes de la Food and Drug Administration des États-Unis (FDA) pour le marché de la santé sud-américain en rapide expansion dans le but de réduire les délais, de diminuer les coûts de stocks et d'augmenter la flexibilité dans les achats de matériaux. Les marchés médicaux de huit pays d'Amérique latine (Brésil, Mexique, Argentine, Chili, Venezuela, Pérou, Colombie et Cuba) devraient afficher un taux de croissance annuel composé (TCAM) de 4,6 % entre 2008 et 2013, atteignant 9,2 milliards de dollars américains, selon Espicom Health Intelligence. Pour répondre à cette demande de plus en plus forte, SABIC s'engage à fournir aux clients locaux un accès rapide et simple aux matériaux à haute performance, tels que les résines biocompatibles en polycarbonate (PC) HP Lexan*, et aux ressources techniques dont ils ont besoin pour introduire la nouvelle génération d'applications médicales sur le marché.
