FLOATING OIL PLATFORM IS HELD FIRM BY BACK-UP LINES MADE WITH DYNEEMA®
The Netherlands, February 24, 2011 - Ropes made with Dyneema®, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), are being successfully used to secure rigs, Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs), Buoyant Turret Mooring (BTM) systems and similar constructions in the offshore oil and gas industry. Users are finding them invaluable when original equipment steel wire rope (SWR) and chains that secure mooring legs break or suffer damage. The back-up lines made with Dyneema® are installed as a safety feature until regular maintenance can be carried out.

Sittard, Pays Bas, 23 février 2011 – SABIC, l’un des principaux acteurs mondiaux de l’industrie des matières plastiques, a élargi son portefeuille de polymères destinés aux applications des soins de santé par le lancement de deux copolymères statistiques de polypropylène (PP) à haute pureté. Spécialement mis au point pour le secteur des soins de santé, ces deux nouveaux grades soulignent la forte implication de SABIC dans ce domaine. A l’occasion du salon Pharmapack 2011 qui se tiendra à Paris les 23 et 24 février prochains (stand 176/178), SABIC présentera ces deux grades destinés, pour l’un, à un large éventail d’applications du moulage par soufflage et, pour l’autre, au moulage par injection.

Pallmann doubles orders - International and national growth progressing swiftly
Zweibrücken, Germany (21 February 2011) – Size reduction technology specialist Pallmann Group reports very strong growth for 2010. Incoming and booked orders were twice the level of 2009, and incoming orders were even up by around ten percent over 2008, the company’s previous record year.
