DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS INTRODUCES AKULON RC AT K 2010
At K 2010, DSM Engineering Plastics will announce the commercialization of Akulon RC, a portfolio of post-industrial recycled grades of PA6 for use in Automotive under-the-bonnet applications. The new material is planned to be available from the end of 2010 – with first commercial applications following in early 2011.

The world’s largest offshore wind farm is under construction in the North Sea, 23 km off the coast of England. Scheduled for completion in 2012, the Greater Gabbard wind farm’s 140 turbines will generate 500 megawatts of electricity for the people of London.

Total Petrochemicals créé un nouveau polypropylène de type métallocène clarifié avec le Millad® NX8000 de Milliken pour le thermoformage
Gent, Belgique – le 5 juillet 2010 – Total Petrochemicals USA, Inc., un des chefs de file parmi les fabricants de polypropylène (PP) dont le siège est situé à Houston et Milliken Chemical, une division de Milliken & Company, ont collaboré pour mettre au point un nouveau polypropylène de type métallocène qui est clarifié à l’aide du Millad® NX8000 une technologie de Milliken. Cette nouvelle matière, référence Lumicene® M3382MZ de Total Petrochemicals, produit des pièces d’une transparence et d’une brillance supérieures qui présentent une excellente rigidité. La résine est idéale pour les boîtes alimentaires, les gobelets, les couvercles, les dômes et les plateaux de service alimentaire pour lesquels une transparence élevée et une rigidité sont importantes. La combinaison de l’agent clarifiant haute performance de Milliken et de la technologie exclusive des métallocènes de Total aidera la prolifération du PP polymère de faible densité qui substituera les autres matières plastiques transparentes ; ceci à coût plus bas tout en tenant compte de l’environnement.
