HIGH PERFORMANCE OFFSHORE APPLICATIONS BASED ON NEW FLUOROSINT® ENHANCED PTFE GRADES FROM QUADRANT DEMONSTRATED AT OFFSHORE EUROPE 2009
Quadrant’s range of enhanced PTFE materials available in full production sizes has been broadened with the addition of two new grades: Fluorosint HPV and Fluorosint MT-01. Fluorosint HPV, especially developed for highly demanding oil & gas applications, is a mica-filled high performance bearing grade that can deliver a pressure velocity (PV) performance improvement of more than 40 % over other PTFE materials according to in-house tests conducted by Quadrant. Parts made of Fluorosint HPV can withstand higher load and velocity while delivering better wear resistance, enabling longer part life compared to existing PTFE-based materials. The product was especially developed to meet the demands of high performance bearing applications where other, low-tech PTFE formulations would exhibit premature wear or can not perform. These characteristics open up interesting new options for engineers and manufacturers.

La gamme Quadrant en PTFE renforcé Fluorosint® disponible dans tous les formats a été élargie avec la création de deux nouveaux grades : le Fluorosint HPV et le Fluorosint MT-01. Compatible à la norme FDA, le Fluorosint HPV renforcé en mica améliore de 40 % le rapport pression-vitesse sur des applications de bagues de frottement en comparaison aux PTFE classiques, selon les tests effectués par Quadrant. Les pièces fabriquées en Fluorosint HPV peuvent résister à une charge et une vitesse plus élevées tout en garantissant une meilleure résistance à l’usure ; le tout permet une plus grande durée de vie des pièces comparée à celles issues de PTFE existants agréés FDA.

Clariant wins $20m contract for China oil field integrated services
September 7, 2009 - Clariant Oil Services, a division of Clariant Chemical (China) Ltd, has been awarded a three-year contract by ConocoPhillips China Ltd to provide a range of integrated services for its operations at the Peng Lai 19-3 oil field at Bohai Bay in northern China.

Clariant sells specialty silicones business to affiliate of GenNx360 Capital Partners
CHARLOTTE, N.C., August 31, 2009 - Clariant has sold its specialty silicones business, including its Gainesville Florida facility, to SiVance LLC, an affiliate of New York-based GenNx360 Capital Partners. GenNx360 is a private equity firm focused on industrial business-to-business companies.`Financial terms of the transaction, which is effective September 1, were not disclosed.

La résine Noryl* ignifugée écologiquement progressiste de SABIC Innovative Plastics permet aux machines à laver Vestel de respecter la nouvelle norme de conformité de l’IEC
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Pays-Bas – 27 août 2009 – Vestel White Goods a choisi la résine Noryl* NH6020 ignifugée de SABIC Innovative Plastics, qui est conforme aux nouvelles exigences plus strictes de la norme 60355 de l’International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) relative aux appareils sans surveillance, pour garantir la compétitivité de ses machines à laver sur le plan mondial. Vestel, l’un des plus grands fabricants turcs d’appareils électroménagers, a remplacé un polyamide ignifugé halogéné par la résine Noryl NH6020 pour les supports de cartes de circuit imprimé afin de répondre aux nouvelles exigences de l’IEC sans avoir recours à des agents ignifugeants chlorés ou bromés. En outre, l’utilisation de ce matériau innovant permet à Vestel d’améliorer la qualité de ses pièces et de réduire les rebuts afin de diminuer les coûts système.
