SABIC Innovative Plastics Wins Dutch Responsible Care Award for Innovative Valox* and Xenoy iQ* Resins Product Portfolio
BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – June 5, 2009 – The Association of the Dutch Chemical Industry (VNCI), presented SABIC Innovative Plastics with the Responsible Care Award 2009 yesterday, during the VNCI annual meeting in The Hague. The company was honored for its efforts in developing a polybutylene terephtalate (PBT) based product portfolio using discarded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic, usually found in disposable materials like drinking bottles. The material, using a proprietary process, consumes less energy and yields less carbon dioxide (CO2) through its entire manufacturing process compared to traditional resins.

DELIVERING LOWEST SYSTEMS COST IN SOLID FORMULATIONS
Heerlen, 05 June 2009 – In response to a change in need, DSM Elastomers has launched Keltan® DE 8642A, a fast curing, high green strength ENB grade with very good filler and plasticizer acceptance. The new grade is particularly suitable for extrusion and molding applications with high level of fillers, such as solid sealing systems. Keltan® DE 8642A is produced in friable bales for excellent mixing performance.

MOOG FINALISE L’ACQUISITION DE LTI REENERGY GMBH
AMSTERDAM, 3 juin 2009 – Après une première prise de participation de 40% dans la société à responsabilité limitée LTi REEnergy GmbH en juin dernier, Moog Inc. (NYSE : MOG.A et MOG.B) a acquis les 60% de parts restantes dans le capital de l’activité éolienne de la société sise à Unna en Allemagne. Cette acquisition porte sur deux sites d’assemblage et d’essais – dont l’un à Unna en Allemagne et l’autre à Shanghai en Chine ainsi que sur un système de commande du pas des pales d’éolienne d’utilisation très répandue qui vient compléter les systèmes actuels de Moog de commande de pas, de contrôle de rotor et de bague collectrice.

DSM and MCC to exchange polycarbonate and polyamide businesses
Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) today announce that they have signed a memorandum of understanding for DSM to acquire MCC’s Novamid® polyamide business in exchange for DSM’s Xantar® polycarbonate business.
