SABIC procède au lancement mondial des composites légers SABIC® STAMAX destinés à l’industrie automobile mondiale
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Pays-Bas — 17 septembre 2008 — L’industrie automobile Européenne à largement plébiscité la gamme produit SABIC STAMAX, résines Polypropylènes chargés en fibre de verre longues (PP LGF). Afin de répondre à la demande croissante pour cette technologie produit, SABIC Innovative Plastics et SABIC PP Automotive ont annoncé aujourd’hui la commercialisation mondiale de la gamme SABIC® STAMAX. Les résines SABIC® STAMAX sont largement utilisées par les constructeurs automobiles européens dans le cadre du remplacement de l’acier pour des fonctions essentielles telles que, par exemple, les modules de face avant et les modules de portes. Elles offrent des solutions légères pour un meilleur rendement énergétique et une plus grande réduction des émissions de C02, sans oublier des économies de coûts des systèmes par le biais de l’optimisation de la conception et de cycles de production .

St. Luke’s Hospital Positions Patients for Greater Comfort with the Orfit AIO All-in-One Immobilization Solution
At ESTRO 27, the European Society for Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology conference, Orfit Industries announced that St. Luke’s Hospital in Dublin has purchased 11 of Orfit Industries AIO Solution® for patient positioning and immobilization for use with their new Elektra Synergy Linear Accelerators. St. Luke’s, the largest radiotherapy department in the Republic of Ireland, selected the AIO Solution to enhance patient comfort, which can reduce movement and increase the precision of radiation delivery. Although the hospital primarily sought a belly board for pelvic patients, the intention is to use the all-in-one solution for head/neck and thorax/abdomen patients, as well. The AIO Solution, featuring four interchangeable, color-coded cushion sets, provides precise immobilization that is both reproducible yet comfortable.

New Borstar® technology takes Borealis’ polypropylene to next level in purity, processability and performance
Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, is expanding the capacity of its leading edge, customer-oriented polypropylene (PP) packaging materials with the inauguration of its new Borstar® plant in Burghausen, Germany. The 330,000 t per year facility will use Borealis’ proprietary Borstar PP 2G (second generation) multi-modal technology to produce products offering a step change in purity, processing output and performance. The plant more than doubles Borealis’ current Borstar PP capacity to 570,000 t per year.
