Milliken Chemical, une division de Milliken & Company, a annoncé aujourd’hui que Suggar, un des leaders dans la fabrication d’appareils ménagers au Brésil dont la production atteint 2 500 machines par jour, utilise à présent le polypropylène (PP) clarifié avec du Millad® NX8000, en remplacement du styrène acrylonitrile (SAN) dans la fabrication de trois modèles de lave-linge parmi les plus populaires: le Top Max 5,0, le Viva, et le Viva Max 6,0. En utilisant le PP clarifié avec du Millad NX8000 dans la fabrication des couvercles des modèles courants, ce qui permet d’obtenir une transparence jusqu’à présent inégalée, Suggar offre à ses clients la transparence tant désirée, tout en améliorant de façon significative la résistance aux chocs pour une durabilité accrue. De plus, en raison d’une densité plus faible, le PP clarifié est d’un coût équivalent à celui de la résine SAN.

The newly refurbished and upgraded laboratory is located at Chemtura’s European manufacturing plant in Latina, Italy, where it produces Adiprene®, Vibrathane® & Ribbon Flow® TDI and MDI prepolymers, Adiprene® Low Free TDI prepolymers and Vibracure® curatives.

CHEMTURA TO INCREASE WESTON®, MARK®, AND NAUGARD® PHOSPHITE PRICES
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase the price of Weston®, Mark®, and Naugard® phosphite antioxidants and stabilizers by $0.40-$0.60/kg, effective for all deliveries on or after June 10, 2008, or as contracts allow. The price increase is necessary to recover the unprecedented increases in the costs of phosphorus-based chemicals.
