BERGEN OP ZOOM, PAYS-BAS — 1er août 2007 — GE Plastics vient de lancer une nouvelle gamme de matériaux thermoplastiques à densité élevée (HSG=High Specific Gravity) susceptibles de remplacer le plomb dans de nombreuses applications du secteur de la santé pour lesquelles une protection antiradiation est exigée. Le appareils médicaux produisant des rayons X et gamma doivent être blindés contre les risques de fuites provenant des tubes et contre la dispersion de radioactivité, afin d’assurer la protection des opérateurs, desmédecins, des patients et aussi des composants électroniques Les compounds à haute densité, antiradiation LNP* Thermocomp* HSG de GE Plastics permettent la mise en œuvre de solutions de protection contre les rayons X, sans recours à des substances toxiques connues. De même, ils permettent une plus grande liberté de conception et des capacités de production de volumes plus élevés, associés à un coût total de pièces réduit grâce à la technique du moulage par injection.
