LE NOUVEAU MODEM ADSL DE WANADOO
Par sa Livebox qui offre à l’utilisateur privé un ensemble de services de connexion Internet, de téléphonie et de réception TV, le géant de la téléphonie française, Wanadoo, souhaitait véhiculer le « fun » de la connectivité. Son modem ADSL Livebox (ligne d’abonné numérique à débit asymétrique) associe donc la beauté du style à la technicité de pointe. Son style, le nouveau modem le doit pour beaucoup au polycarbonate (PC) Xantar® de DSM Engineering Plastics. Le grade de Xantar FC 19 UR confère un fini brillant au boîtier anti choc de la Livebox et permet à un grand logo Wanadoo d’émettre des impulsions de lumière douce lorsque le modem est en fonctionnement, tout en respectant les conditions du classement d’inflammabilité UL V0 à 3 mm d’épaisseur.

GE Joins Forces with ASC Incorporated to Help Offer New Lifestyle Choices to Automotive Consumers with ‘Sunvertibles’

ASC’s patent-pending, bi-directional InfiniVu™ “open-air” sliding-roof system, which is incorporated into a prototype minivan dubbed the ASC TriLite, features GE’s Lexan* GLX polycarbonate (PC) resin for style, safety, and weight savings. This application marks the first time, worldwide, this GE technology has been showcased in a panoramic automotive roof system – a technology whose advantages include design flexibility to promote creativity and part consolidation; light weight to boost fuel economy; and impact resistance for occupant safety. The new collaboration between GE and ASC, announced today, offers ASC additional cutting-edge innovations for its high-image specialty vehicles as well as its more mainstream vehicle systems, such as open-air roof systems.

Pour injecter ses connecteurs de carte PCMCIA (carte PC), le fabricant de composants électroniques Tyco Amp Den Bosch est passé d’un polymère cristal liquide (LCP) au polyamide 4,6 Stanyl®, ce qui lui a permis de gagner sur le coût global des pièces, d’en améliorer les propriétés mécaniques et d’obtenir une très faible tendance au gauchissement. Le Stanyl 46HF 5040, un grade à haute fluidité, égale sans problème les propriétés d’écoulement du LCP et permet de reproduire facilement la fine géométrie des connecteurs tout en procurant des propriétés mécaniques supérieures, aspect très important de l’application.
