GE Helps Delphi Lose Weight in Automotive Wire Coating and Meet Halogen-Free Part Requirements with Flexible Noryl* Resin
GARCHING, GERMANY — June 29, 2005 — New, high-performance Flexible Noryl* resin from GE Advanced Materials was selected by Delphi Corporation as a wire and cable coating for the company’s vehicle electrical systems. Delphi chose GE’s Flexible Noryl resin to meet a global automotive manufacturer’s need for high-performance cable that also addressed the requirements for halogen-free parts, with the cable to debut on a North American vehicle application. Flame-retardant Flexible Noryl resin may now offer the auto industry a new wire coating solution that provides superior properties compared to polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and is an excellent candidate for thin- and ultra-thin-wall coatings that significantly reduce weight and size and meet halogen-, chlorine-, and lead-free part requirements.

ACQUISITION DE POLY HI SOLIDUR PAR QUADRANT
Reading/Lenzburg, 27 juin 2005 – Quadrant vient de conclure avec Menasha Corporation un accord pour l'acquisition de Poly Hi Solidur, Inc., leader mondial de la fabrication de produits semi-finis en polyéthylène à très haut poids moléculaire (UHMW-PE) pour l'usinage et la fabrication. La transaction sera achevée en août de cette année. Cette opération de croissance externe est la seconde par son ampleur dans l'histoire de Quadrant. Elle élargit significativement la gamme de produits de la société et renforce sa domination sur le marché des plastiques techniques.

Univar Benelux helps Radson to develop a state of the art ecological solution in radiator testing
Rotterdam / Brussels / Zonhoven, 21 June, 2005 - Radson NV, a market leader in the production of domestic radiators, decorative radiators and floor heating systems, has developed a state of the art, ecological sound means of testing products in its manufacturing facility at the company headquarters in Zonhoven, Belgium. By using ultra-filtration (UF) technology from Orelis, in combination with SurTec 533, a low-nitrogen flash rust preventative supplied by Univar, Radson has dramatically reduced the consumption of chemicals and process water during product testing.
