E&E UK takes the name of its parent company and re-brands as Univar UK Ltd
1 July 2003. E&E, the UK’s largest chemical distributor, technical services and solutions provider, has adopted the Univar brand. E&E businesses throughout the UK have been members of Univar N.V. since 2001, which itself devolved from Vopak N.V. to become a separate company at the end of June 2002.

Univar Ltd’s Pharma Division adds DMV International’s Primojel® and Primellose® high performance excipients to its product range
Univar Ltd’s Pharma Division, formerly known as the pharmaceutical division of Anstead International and the leading distributor of ingredients to the pharmaceutical industry in the UK, announced that they are extending their distribution agreement with DMV International to incorporate its high performance disintegrants: Primojel® and Primellose®. DMV recently added these to their existing product range and will use Univar Pharma’s unrivalled customer base to market these excipients in the UK and Ireland.

OMNEXUS LANCE UN NOUVEL OUTIL PERFORMANT DE RECHERCHE DE PRODUITS ET APPLICATIONS INTÉGRÉES
Le 8 juillet 2003 —Omnexus, la place de marché électronique créée par et pour l’industrie plastique, a lancé une base de données mondiale pour les matières plastiques permettant aux ingénieurs et aux chercheurs d’accéder aux données de plus de 8.000 produits actifs, ce qui représente environ 80 pour cent des produits référencés dans le monde, auprès de plus de 35 industriels, distributeurs et fabricants de composants. Développé en collaboration avec M-Base Engineering + Software, le centre de données produits-applications d’Omnexus (http://www.omnexus.com/materialdatacenter) propose également une base de données intégrée permettant aux utilisateurs d’effectuer leur recherche par segment de marché ou type de polymère, de consulter les photos et les fiches techniques de plus d’une centaine d’applications.

WR™ 300 de Greene, Tweed & Co, la solution idéale pour les étanchéités de pompes dans un complexe de raffinerie
Afin d’endiguer le risque élevé d’usure des étanchéités de pompes et les fuites qui en découlent, pour le complexe de raffinerie d’une grande entreprise pétrolière implantée dans la zone de l’Europoort, J. de Jong Rotatech a opté pour des bagues d’usure WR™ 300 de Greene Tweed. Ces bagues d’usure sont fabriquées dans un composite à base de PEEK (polyétheréthercétone) renforcé aux fibres de carbone. Elles présentent une excellente résistance aux produits chimiques, des propriétés anti-rayure et anti-grippage, un faible coefficient de frottement et une bonne résistance aux chocs. En outre, ce matériau résiste parfaitement aux chocs thermiques importants.
