HUSKY OPENS NEW TECHNICAL CENTER
Bolton, Ontario, Canada — Husky Injection Molding Systems has added Mexico to the growing list of regions served by its worldwide network of Technical Centers. The newest facility, located in Mexico City, opened in September and is situated in close proximity to a number of key customers.

Le TRACS : une voie royale vers un meilleur environnement de travail
Le système TRACS (transport, récupération et épuration d'air) de Rapid a grandement amélioré l'environnement de travail des opérateurs chez le transformateur suédois Plastal AB de Göteborg, en réduisant de manière spectaculaire la poussière de broyage en suspension dans l'air. Le système TRACS récemment installé est directement relié aux broyeurs Rapid chargés de recycler les déchets plastiques de l'atelier d'injection.

GREAT LAKES LAUNCHES HIGHER REACTIVITY FLAME RETARDANT FOR POLYURETHANE AND POLYISOCYANURATE FOAM
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced the introduction of Firemaster® 520, a higher reactivity flame retardant for rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam applications. Firemaster 520 was developed in close consultation with foam manufacturers who need to change their formulations to accommodate alternative blowing agents that are quickly replacing HCFC, which is subject to phase-out under the Montreal protocol.

Un choix "cool" pour les bouteilles soufflées "hot-fill"
Le RB206MO est un nouveau grade de polypropylène (PP) statistique qui vient renforcer la position de Borealis dans le peloton de tête des fournisseurs du secteur des applications hautes performances des bouteilles. Les bouteilles fabriquées dans ce matériau sont capables de supporter jusqu'à 100°C en remplissage à chaud ("hot fill") sans déformation rémanente. Même à température élevée, le RB206MO conserve son excellente rigidité qui permet aux lignes de remplissage à chaud d'atteindre une productivité élevée. Un autre avantage lié à la grande rigidité du RB206MO est de pouvoir réduire le poids de la bouteille et de dégager ainsi des gains de coût sur la consommation de matière et sur le transport. Grâce à un kit d'additifs original, le RB206MO présente une résistance à chaud améliorée qui permet de réduire le nettoyage des évents de dégazage, de la surface des empreintes, des filières et des pipes de soufflage. De par sa très grande facilité d'extrusion, sa grande résistance à l'écrasement et son excellente nucléation, le RB206MO convient tout à fait aux lignes de production à grande cadence, sur lesquelles il permet également d'importantes économies de matière dans le cas des bouteilles multi couches.
